Nexa Event secures Dubai Sports Council (DSC) permits for sports events in Dubai — tournaments, championships, races, fitness events, sports festivals and exhibitions. This guide explains how the DSC permit works and how we manage it alongside your other approvals.
Updated August 2026
Sports events in Dubai are permitted by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) under Executive Council Resolution No. (1) of 2020, which regulates sports establishments and sports events in the emirate. No sports event may be organised in Dubai without a DSC permit, and the rule applies throughout the emirate, including free zones and special development zones. Applications run through DSC's own portal on dubaisc.ae.
Any sports activity or function organised in Dubai, commercial or non-commercial: festivals, shows, celebrations, competitions, championships, competitive and community sports, and sports workshops, seminars, conferences and exhibitions. A DET event permit does not replace it — the DSC permit is required in its own right.
Applications commonly include the event concept and programme, the event logo, venue confirmation, an event safety and security plan, event liability insurance, details of participants and sponsors, and approvals from other authorities depending on the event format and location.
The typical flow: confirm the venue and event format, prepare the documents, submit the application through the DSC portal, respond to any queries from the Council, and receive the permit before your event date. Allow extra time where venue or other-authority approvals are needed first.
We determine whether your event needs a DSC permit alone or alongside a DET event permit, prepare and submit the DSC application, follow it through to issuance, and coordinate the venue, safety and other-authority approvals it depends on — alongside registration, production, branding and staffing for the event itself.
Dubai Sports Council's service page states a service duration of one working day for the sports-event permit (verified on 23 August 2026). Venue and other-authority approvals come first, so file early.
